Param Priya Singh, Ph.D.

Principal Investigator

Assistant Professor, Department of Anatomy and Bakar Aging Research Institute

I did my Ph.D. in computational genomics at the Curie Institute, Paris, on the origin of disease-associated genes in the human genome. I then moved to Stanford University for my postdoc in Prof. Anne Brunet's lab to study diapause and aging using killifish. In 2023, I joined the Department of Anatomy as an Assistant Professor.

Aakriti Singh

Computational Biologist

I am a recent M.S. graduate from the University of Southern California. My degree is in biochemistry with an emphasis in bioinformatics. I really enjoy working with genetics data and contributing to research from a data perspective. In my free time, I like to run (I’m training for the half marathon), read, crochet, and cook!

Arianna Doss

Administrative Assistant

I  graduated from San Francisco State University with a B.S. in Public Health. I joined the Singh lab in 2023 as a Faculty Assistant for the Department of Anatomy and UCSF Bakar Aging Research Institute (BARI).

Christopher He

Graduate Student (DSCB)

I majored in molecular, cell and developmental biology with a minor in bioinformatics at UCLA. I worked on creating better DNA methylation clocks in the lab of Dr. Matteo Pellegrini. In the Singh lab, I am interested in studying the cellular mechanisms that govern diapause in killifish. Outside of lab, I love watching new shows and old movies, reading, and eating good food!

Diana Owen

Experimental Specialist

I am a recent graduate of California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a B.S. in biochemistry. At Cal Poly, I worked as an undergraduate research assistant in Dr. Katharine Watts' lab, studying the biosynthetic mechanisms of a natural product from a soil-derived actinobacteria. In the Singh Lab, I am interested in discovering the genetic and biochemical mechanisms of unique killifish phenotypes. Outside of the lab, I enjoy dancing, skiing, and live music with friends!

Stephanie Gagnon, Ph.D.

Experimental Specialist, Lab Manager

I did my Ph.D. in the School of Sports, Exercise, and Health Sciences at Loughborough University in the U.K. on the role of mTORC1 pathway in aging skeletal muscle. I then went on to work as a research assistant in Dr. Anne Brunet's lab at Stanford University where I studied genetic factors underlying aging in mouse neural stem cells. In 2023, I joined the Singh Lab as a Specialist.
